An independent, free math solver that shows its work.

What it is

SolveMath AI takes a math problem, typed or photographed, and returns the answer with every step, the rule named at each one. It covers arithmetic through first-year university: algebra, calculus, trigonometry, statistics, geometry and word problems. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

How it works

A large language model works the problem the way a teacher would and checks its own answer; the result is rendered as proper math notation in your browser. Common problems are cached, so they load instantly for the next person who asks. Your last ten solutions are kept on your own device so you can come back to them.

Why it is free

Most step-by-step solvers lock the steps behind a subscription. We show them free, no account required. The plan is to keep it that way with light, unobtrusive advertising in the regions where live solving runs.

What it is for

Learning, not shortcuts. The best way to use it is to try the problem first, compare your work with the solution line by line, and find the exact step where you went wrong. A solution you cannot explain is not yours yet.
